What is product design?.
Product design can be best described as the idea creation, development concept, testing, manufacturing and implementation of a service or a physical service. The product designer will conceptualize and evaluate ideas, thus making them feasible through the creation of products. The role of a product designer will comprise of a number of characteristics of roles such as the marketing manager, product manager, industrial and design engineer.
The role product designer is quite often confused with industrial design. The role of industrial design involves a broader range of activities. This can include service design, systems design, interaction design, also including product design. In the role of a product designer the combination of art, science and technology are required to create physical products. The role of product designer is a role that is always involving, making uses of new technologies to improve product design.
